We are proud to honor:
Rachel & Joel Reck
Continuing Legacy Award
Rachel and Joel Reck are committed to helping elementary school children discover the joy of reading. Longtime volunteer tutors with the Greater Boston Jewish Coalition for Literacy, Rachel and Joel can often be found at the Conley School in South Boston—Joel providing one-on-one tutoring to a third grader and Rachel leading a group of volunteers from CJP's Women’s Philanthropy.
Amanda & Campe Goodman
Community Engagement Award
Noticing a gap in opportunities for Jewish young adults to participate in ongoing volunteerism alongside their peers, Amanda and Campe Goodman visioned Reachout! and developed tools that have led to its tremendous success. Now in its fifth year, ReachOut! has engaged hundreds of Jewish young adults in service throughout the Greater Boston area.
Lynda & Jeff Bussgang & Family
Barry Shrage Community Builder Award
We need to continue to ensure a vibrant Jewish community for the future and to ensure we are engaging the next generation in Jewish life.
–Barry Shrage, President, CJP
A remarkable example of engaging the next generation in service, the family of Lynda and Jeff Bussgang is deeply connected to volunteering in the Jewish Community. The Bussgang children have all participated in JCRC’s B’nai TELEM/Ma’asim Tovim partnership program at Temple Beth Elohim. In addition, Lynda is the Multigenerational Program Manager for Hebrew Senior Life creating a portfolio of volunteer opportunities for its students. Jeff plays an active role as a leader in the Greater Boston Jewish Community.
