SHOELACES
In this award-winning Israeli family dramedy, surly mechanic Reuven takes in his exuberant adult special-needs son, Gadi, after his ex-wife’s untimely death. As Gadi becomes accustomed to life with Reuven and Reuven begins to enjoy parenthood, their world is turned upside down by Reuven’s failing kidneys. Gadi wants to donate one of his own kidney's to help save his father's life. However, the transplant committee objects. Furious, Gadi sets out to claim his right to do something meaningful, on his own, and help his father. Thoughtful, poignant, and unexpectedly funny, Shoelaces explores the complex relationships through the delicate lens of its special-needs hero.
